Hey guys! :) Sorry it's been a while since my last post. I just returned from vacation in Daytona Beach, FL with my family, was wonderful!!

So, I had my very first jewelry show/open house on Friday, March 5th, at Brewed Beginnings coffee shop in Paddock Lake, WI. It went great! A good amount of people came, mostly friends and family, but a few newbies, and I made out very well. So thanks to all of you who did come out to check out my art, and hope to see you all again very soon!

Here are some photos of the event. I know, I'm sorry that they are blurry, my camera was on the wrong setting, but you get the idea anyway. :)

Amethyst Design

so, just started learning to wire wrap pendants, I think I am doing okay :) This amethyst necklace I am working on features a wire-wrapped pendant. The necklace itself turned out really pretty, I think. Here's a photo for you guys to check it out before I put it up for sale.

Oh ya, by the way, here's the newest member of the family :) It's called Black Rivers

New Banner and Avatar

So I spent hours tonight trying out different programs, free trials, blah blah blah trying to make the perfect banner for my etsy shop. Well, that didn't work out so well. As computer savvy as I am, I always think I am better than in actuality. Nothing was working, it was either watermarked or blurry. UGH!

So finally I just gave in and remembered that once I had seen someone on etsy who sold her graphic art skills as banners and avatars and websites. I found who I was looking for and ordered a banner and matching avatar, only $10! Wish I had known that it was so cheap, all that time I spent trying to make something work was worth more than that! So know I wait 24 hours to see what it will be.

I'm excited! All of her work was well rated and from what I saw, was really good and awesome, just what I was looking for. I will update when I receive the images as to how I like them.

In case anyone is interested, her etsy shop is :

Enjoy her graphic art!

NEW PHOTOS

so, my boyfriend, Jeremy, and I have been working on how to take better, clearer, more captivating photos. We get so much different feedback from all different people, really I guess it just depends on personal preference. Well here are some options of the new photos, let me know what you think!

Etsy Forums

WOW...where the heck have I been all this time?? I just discovered Etsy's Forums, and man do I wish I had known all about this a long time ago! I have barely even begun to respond to questions, and comment on others' answers, and low and behold, I have already received many more hearts for my shop and items! I guess I found a secret tool :)

WOW

Well, I actually can't believe I am doing this! I always told myself that blogging was stupid, I never got it, and actually, I still don't think I get it. Well, here goes.

This blog is primarily for promoting my love, designing and creating jewelry, although I'm sure I'll throw in some personal life tidbits :)

I've been creating jewelry since I was a little girl in Girl Scouts where I learned to macrame. In my early teens, I made many, many macrame hemp beaded necklaces for myself and all my friends. They were super popular back then. In the last few years, I have discovered how much I actually really enjoy creating jewelry. I have always wanted to be creative, and this works out really well for me. I love the entire process, the brainstorming, the picking and choosing of beads, pendants, and materials, the creating of my ideas, and then of course seeing a happy customer!

So I started Beca's Beaded Jewelry in February of 2009, almost a year ago. For a while, I was working a full-time job, so this was kind of a side project. Well, in September, I was laid off from my last job, and since then, have had all the free time in the world to get this really going. Of course I am still applying for jobs (it sure is tough to live off of unemployment), but I almost hope I don't find one because I would love to just create and sell jewelry for the rest of my life. I've really never been the type of person to "enjoy" going to a day job, so to say it lightly, I hate it. Being laid off, ironically, has been a blessing to me, and to my business. My sales have increased dramatically ever since.

Back in February, I started my online shop at Etsy: http://www.becasbeadedjewelry.etsy.com
(check it out!) :) Since then, I have begun to grow. I have gained some loyal customers through word of mouth, and also am selling inside of a local coffee shop, Brewed Beginnings in Salem, WI. (my favorite coffee shop ever, btw.) A lot of my orders have been custom, which is super fun for me! Bringing two people's ideas together to create one piece of art is actually really refreshing and fun. So far, I have not had a customer decline a custom order they asked for, and to be honest, right now that's my biggest fear :)

Okay. So I think that's good for now. That was surprisingly easy and quick :)

So, I'll be back soon.

Don't know if anyone will ever even see this!

haha
